Yanmar Engines
Yanmar engines go further and they work harder, year after year.
Yanmar diesel engines are renowned for their rugged reliability. With their economical operation and reduced downtime, it's little wonder that successful water sports professionals rely on Yanmar for enduring power. Little wonder that major charter fleet operators turn to Yanmar. Little wonder that award-winning boat designers specify Yanmar from the start.
The Yanmar Marine range includes the single cylinder 1GM10 (9hp), the YM series (14hp, 21hp & 29hp) and the recently-revised JH series (39hp, 54hp, 75hp & 110hp). All Yanmar engines up to 75hp are available with a saildrive.
The new BY series of engines is the latest generation of Yanmar diesels with four- and six-cylinder models (150hp, 180hp, 220hp & 260hp) whilst the 6LPA is available as a 315hp six-cylinder. All these engines are available as sterndrives with a choice of the Bravo 1, 2 or 3 drives. Please contact us for details of the LY series (370-480hp), LY3 series (380-480hp) and SY series (720-900hp).
GM Series
The Yanmar 1GM10 is well-known as a reliable and dependent workhorse for smaller yachts and launches and it is a best seller across the world. Its compact dimensions and light weight make it the ideal engine for a tight installation. The revised 1GM10 features a larger flywheel to maintain smooth running and easy starting.

YM Series
The YM series comprises the two-cylinder engines 14hp 2YM15 and the three-cylinder 21hp 3YM20 and 29hp 3YM30. These big displacement Yanmar diesels give more power, easy starting and outstanding torque at low engine speeds. The new design means quieter, smoother and cleaner running than precious generations, yet with traditional Yanmar values of quality and dependability.
The new Yanmar 3YM30 AE is introduced in 2015 and features the same power output at its predecessor at a lower rpm for improved quietness, as well as a larger capacity engine block for improved torque and reliability.
With the added benefit of simplified maintenance due to the new location of the sea-water pump and all other service points being together near the engine front these units no doubt are already on track to be recognized as the best-in-class auxiliary power for sailboats and tough, reliable primary power for small motor craft.

JH Series
The JH series of three-cylinder and four-cylinder engines comprises engines of 39hp, 40hp, 45hp, 53hp, 57hp, 75hp, 80hp, 110hp and 121hp. These compact mid-range power plants include naturally aspirated as well as the turbo-charged engines.
The new Yanmar 3JH40, 4JH45, 4JH57, 4JH80 and 4JH110 engines bring Common Rail diesel technology to the JH range, with improved alternator capacities.
A long, trouble-free engine life is a common reason for choosing Yanmar: worldwide parts backup and quick response times make for minimum downtime. These engines are again and again the favoured choice of bluewater yachtsman and boat owners the world over.

Saildrives
Yanmar engines up to 75hp are available with a saildrive unit, either the SD20 or SD50. This is double-sealed for extra protection and features the Aqua Sensor to identify potential problems before they occur.
A mounting plinth (pictured left) may also be supplied as an option, otherwise the engine and saildrive may be installed onto custom-made engine beds.

BY Series
The new BY series engines are based on four-cylinder and six-cylinder lightweight and compact BMW engines. The engines use a second-generation common rail fuel system to comply with the exhaust regulations of the RCD and give acceleration performance equivalent to gasoline engines in the same class. The four-cylinder models are available at 150hp and 180hp and the six-cylinder models at 220hp and 260hp.

LP Series
The LP Series comprises the six-cylinder engines 315hp 6LPA, which is light in weight and small in size. This engine contains many high performance features sure to appeal to the serious motorboater. The overhead cam design develops max hp at higher revs, allowing smaller, smoother running propellers, while a waste-gated water-cooled turbo really makes things happen when the throttle is put down hard.

Sterndrives
Engines from the BY and LP series are available as sterndrive units, ranging from 150hp to 315hp and with a choice of Mercruiser Bravo sterndrives. Combining a Yanmar Diesel with a MerCruiser sterndrive gives a wide variety of engine and propulsion unit choices to better suit your boating needs. Installation is straightforward, either for a new boat or for re-powering.
Note: weights are given without fluids and lubricants, with the heaviest sterndrive (Bravo 3); the Bravo 1 weighs approximately 10kg less.
