Engines and around the engine

The Vetus range of engines has been carefully developed to provide an engine suitable for every type of boat; as well as a complete range of engine accessories which are designed with the owner in mind. Vetus have developed a whole range of 'around the engine' products, including engine controls and control cables, cooling water strainers, engine mounts, extraction ventilators and zinc anodes.

Stern gear systems

As important as a reliable engine, stern gear assemblies need to be of the best quality available on the market. Vetus stainless steel prop shafts made of Remanit (Duplex 1-4462) offer maximum strength and corrosion resistance, bronze stern tubes are equipped with a self aligning dual lip seal which eliminate the use of a conventional stuffing box. Lubrication is ensured by the use of raw water. Seals do not require grease nor oil. A wide range of standard lengths and diameters are available from stock. Longer shafts and larger diameters are available on request. Flexible couplings to be fitted between the gearbox and the shaft will reduce all vibration and noise.

Exhaust systems

Vetus has many years of experience in developing exhaust systems, continually working to develop systems which operate at a reduced sound level, whilst ensuring that back pressure does not reach damaging levels for the engine. Because every boat and engine space is different, Vetus has developed a wide range of models to suit different uses, manufacturing the NLP for vertical installations, with the NLPH for when a horizontal installation is easier. Following the successful introduction of two-chamber waterlocks, Vetus' latest model, the NLP3, now contains three chambers and features even greater sound reduction.

In response to customer requests for a stylish dashboard with a modern appearance, Vetus have introduced a line of deluxe instrument panels. In addition to the eye-catching contemporary styling, the use of the highest quality materials enables these panels to withstand any type of weather whilst out on the water. These panels come with either a chrome, black or white surround, with this variety of choice allowing customers to match the bezels supplied with the gauges and create a sleek, uniform look. All Vetus panels are watertight according to IP66 standard and designed so no screws or fastenings are visible when the panel is installed.
